For Open Access Week, we designed a modern, user-friendly website aimed at raising awareness about global climate justice. The site’s minimalistic design and bold imagery create a professional yet engaging atmosphere, allowing visitors to easily access important resources and event information.

One of the key features we developed was an interactive map that pulls data from Squarespace events and dynamically displays the event's time and date based on the user's local time zone. This custom JavaScript solution ensures that users from across the globe can seamlessly view events in their local time, a function that is not available on Squarespace.

Function

The primary challenge was overcoming the limitations of Squarespace’s built-in event feature, which doesn't support local time zones for events. To solve this, we developed a custom JavaScript solution that pulls event data directly from Squarespace, dynamically displaying the event’s local time and date based on the user's geographical location. This ensures that participants from across the globe can accurately view the timing of relevant events, without the confusion of converting time zones manually. An interactive map was integrated into the design, providing users with a clear, visual guide to events in their area.
